Why You Should Throw Those Old Trophies Away, NOW

If you haven’t read the classic, What Got You Here Won’t Get You There, do so today. And if you take nothing away from the book or this article than past performance does not always equal future success, you are ahead of the game-metaphorically speaking.

I advise you to throw your old trophies away because they are reminders of past success and are anchors around your neck when looking toward the future.

Who remembers the countless times Al Bundy relived the glories of “four touchdowns in a single game”?

While I hope you aren’t stuck in quite the dead-end job Al was, it is easy to remember the glory days and decide that life will never again be so good.

Without the visual reminders of those “good ‘ol times,” you’ve got nothing to look back on and all the room in the world to grow into a brighter future.
